TV, The Musical - EPISODE 1
It's based on the true story of the events surrounding the invention of TV and the TV industry (1920's - 1969) and all the sacrifices the people (Philo Farnsworth - genius inventor - and David Sarnoff - General of RCA - and their families) made in order to make TV/video a real medium and big business. The length is 18:27.
Short multilayered soundscape featuring the early sounds of 20th Century (amazing with headphones)
Opening number called "The World of Tomorrow" at the gates of the NYC World's Fair in 1939 featuring a male and a female welcoming people in by the thousands. This is the fair when David Sarnoff of RCA introduced and demo'ed TV to the public.
Short scenes with Pem Farnsworth (Philo Farnsworth's wife at age 97-98 or so) and a female journalist interviewing her taking place in the late 1990’s. This also includes Philo Farnsworth collapsing after seeing Sarnoff's speech on a TV in a window in Manhattan and has a nervous breakdown.
The appearance of Amelia Farnsworth (an apparition of Lewis Farnsworth's first wife - he's the father of Philo Farnsworth) and Lewis who is there to milk the cows pre-dawn. The apparition tells Lewis something important about the baby he's about to have with his second wife, Serena. This is a true family story that was passed down.
Ends with a bit of a reprise of “The World of Tomorrow” and the credits
